Ancient Greece

Greek Clothing

Picture
Men and women wore linen in summer and wool in the winter. Made by the mothers, the daughters, and the female slaves. The first real hat the broad brimmed petasos, was invented by the people that were Ancient Greeks! They only wore it when they traveled.  Chin straps held hats on their heads.  When the hat wasn't needed to protect them from weather, the hat would hang down the back of the person wearing it.
